How to Get More Blog Traffic: BlogRush.com

By StrangeWork.com: After reading Jeff’s post about BlogRush.com, I decided to give it a shot. To be honest this is the first I’ve heard of BlogRush.

BlogRush.com LogoBlogRush is basically a widget for your blog that shows related blog posts from the blogosphere. So what’s the benefit? BlogRush will display your new blog post links inside their widget on other related blogs. In theory this should send a surge of traffic to your blog whenever you publish a new blog post.

It seems most smaller blogs aren’t seeing as much of a surge in traffic as they would like. BlogRush launched to the public about a week ago, so this really doesn’t surprise me. This type of widget takes time to build a strong user base. I’m sure MyBlogLog faced the same scepticism when they launched, but look how mainstream they are now.

I’m going to give BlogRush some real estate on my sidebar. I’ll be sure to post a follow-up with my BlogRush stats once I have some solid numbers to share.

    Thanks for the link Brad.

It’s just that having 20,000 impressions and only 50 people clicked through is a pretty bad click through rate. Thats the point I was trying to make. Even Darren Rowse from ProBlogger.net has crappy click through rate. As bloggers, the only thing we can really do is create catchy headlines for our articles, while the widget and algorithm do the rest.

Now there supposed to give out bonus credits to those with smaller sites but I don’t think that will be enough.

Yeah that’s a good point. With that many impressions there should be more click throughs. I don’t expect much but I guess every click counts!

Seems like they have had a significant amount of adoption though since their launch, I have been seeing it on almost every blog I visit. Let me know if it works, it is a very interesting concept.

Yeah it is spreading quick. As long as they figure out a solid way to keep out the spammers it should do well!
